Dr Adriaan Nel has a diverse international background and extensive experience in primary care. He completed his medical education at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, where he gained valuable experience working in HIV care at some of the country’s busiest hospitals.

After relocating to Canada, Dr Nel furthered his primary care training by completing the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada examinations and achieving board certification as a Family Physician. As a certified Family Physician, Dr Nel enjoys being involved in the care of the whole family.

In 2018, Dr Nel moved to Australia, where he became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Since then, he has been serving the Darlinghurst community, applying his experience to provide high-quality care.

Dr Nel has a special interest in Men’s Health and Sexual Health. He is an S100 HIV prescriber, enabling him to provide treatment and ongoing care for people living with HIV.

Dr Nel is also an ADHD-endorsed prescriber, offering comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and personalised treatment plans for adults with ADHD.

In addition to his primary qualifications, Dr Nel holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dermatology.

Dr Nel is the Lead Doctor for Equality Health, a healthcare service for the LGBTIQA+ community. His leadership in this field highlights his commitment to equity and dedication to addressing the unique healthcare needs of diverse populations.
